Port has been a popular wine in the UK since the early 1700’s. Some styles of port are matured in oak casks which leaves lovely red cherry and chocolate flavours in the casks.
Once our Tullibardine single malt has been finished in the port casks for about 12 months these flavours are picked up and added to the sweet vanilla and barley flavours of the whisky.
There are red cherry aromas and lovely sweet red fruit notes. Very soft and viscous to taste with red cherry fruit prevelent again with a touch of mocha chocolate and citrus on the finish.
